creative climate action awards

@theleapbd

The Leap Creative Climate Action Awards promote and support community-led climate action across the Bradford District. The Awards sit within the wider Dream Act Inspire campaign. This is a bold, community-powered movement rooted in social justice, lived experience, and cultural practice. The Awards celebrate and elevate community-led climate action.

The programme supports individuals and organisations who believe creativity, arts and culture can raise climate awareness, encourage sustainable lifestyles, and inspire positive action for the planet. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund (Climate Action Fund) and Bradford Council, the Awards provide funding and support to help bring creative ideas to life. The programme prioritises communities historically under-represented in climate leadership to become the designers, owners and drivers of local climate solutions.

We’re interested in projects that use arts, creativity, or culture to explore climate change, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.

What will successful applicants receive?

  • Up to £1,500 for successful applications to support delivery and evaluation of your creative climate action project.

  • The Award can either be given directly to the applicant, their carer or a nominated organisation.

  • One to one support from The Leap team which will offer guidance and advice to help your project succeed.

  • Tools and resources that help you deliver your project and tell your journey (evaluation). You won’t be doing this alone – we'll support you along the way.  All we ask is that you stay committed and complete your project.

  • Connections with other organisations’ and individuals who can help support your project.  We will connect you to the other projects taking part in Dream Act Inspire to enable a truly collaborative experience.
