The Leap’s mission is to change the nature of arts and culture from top-down to community-led. Our purpose is to support people and artists in Bradford & Keighley to shape and lead the arts and cultural offer in our District.

We’re inspiring people to create, building confidence and making space for communities to enjoy the local projects happening on their doorstep. Our purpose is to help build capacity directly into our communities for them to have the power to create on their own terms.

The Leap supports people in a range of ways. Primarily, we provide 1:2:1 support for individuals, groups, and organisations to develop their ideas and practice through community-led approaches.

Get in touch with us for anything related to arts and culture! You will be assigned a Community Development Manager who will be able to talk through your idea, how to get started, connect you to the right people and share their knowledge and support on funding opportunities.

Do you want to incorporate more arts and culture into your services? We can help you connect with artists and develop relationships with creative leaders to support the development of creativity in your organisation. Whether this is from running your own community cinema, to putting on a full-scale theatre performance, we’ll be able help you get started.

We want to support artists to learn how to work with communities and organisations to further their artistic practice. If you’re interested in getting more involved in community arts and culture, join our artists network or drop us an email with any questions you have about how to get involved.

The Leap is leading the way in community engagement in the broadest sense. Award programmes – Specific commissions for creative projects / ideas – Actively working with our local communities to support them to keep developing the exceptional work they are already doing
