Everyones an Art-ist by Charlotte Green
This is a community project in Holmewood providing weekly artistic workshops at the local library throughout 2025. Fo-cused on children and families, particularly those with pre-school and primary school-aged children, it offers activities like visual arts, poetry, dance, sculpture, music, and story-telling. The initiative promotes self-expression, uncovers hidden talents, and empowers participants by fostering pride in the arts. Families will collaborate on art projects that cele-brate their stories and heritage, encouraging cultural ex-change and community engagement.
Love Music, Hate Crime by Thanveer Hussian
The project will involve families and children in creating songs and music videos through creative writing workshops focused on anti-crime and local issues. Families will collab-orate to write lyrics, and performing arts will be incorporated through dance workshops led by choreographer Hasnain Shafiq.
Bradford Sound by Ross Elliott
This is a music creation program designed to empower young people in Bradford, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through 16 structured workshops and 4 intro-ductory taster sessions, participants gain skills in songwrit-ing, production, and performance. They collaborate to cre-ate and record original songs, including group tracks that promote community engagement and self-expression.
Creative Minds by Naseem Kausar
"Creative Minds" will offer weekly upcycling art workshops (35 weeks in total), engaging 60-80 mother-daughter pairs in collaborative projects.Activities will include creating culturally inspired, sustaina-ble art while fostering family connections. Focused on South Asian heritage, it also promotes intercultural collaboration and environmental responsibility, creating a nurturing and inclusive community space.
Treads and Motifs by Humaira Minhas
Threads and Motifs is an art project in Bradford aimed at fos-tering creativity and cultural exchange among children, young people, and families. Involving 8-10 families per ses-sion, participants explore traditional and modern art tech-niques inspired by South Asian designs and Bradford's tex-tile heritage. Over 16 two-hour workshops held at community centers, the project promotes artistic self-expression and collaboration.
Sangat Create Together by Riasat Ali
The Sangat Create Together project will deliver a range of arts initiatives to foster creativity, community ownership, and cul-tural participation. It includes the creation of two large-scale murals co-designed by children, families, and local artists, alongside a 12-week multi-arts workshop program offering activities such as calligraphy, henna, canvas painting, and karaoke. The project will culminate in a celebration event showcasing participants' creative outputs and featuring a meal prepared by the stakeholders themselves.
Hope not hate community Art, Food and Dance Project by Paul Meszaros
The Hope Not Hate Community Art, Food, and Dance Pro-ject is a 6-week initiative in Bradford's disadvantaged areas, aimed at empowering young families and individuals through creative workshops. It includes weekly cooking and art ses-sions, culminating in the creation of murals and a public event at Odsal Stadium. The finale features a family fun day with a dance competition, live artwork, and an expected turnout of 15,000 people, celebrating arts, culture, and community.
Dancing with Colour Work-shops by Dan Mallaghan
This project involves 12 weekly workshops for Learning Disa-bled and Neurodivergent young people and their families. Combining dance, music, and visual arts, these sessions will provide a sensory and creative space for participants to explore their artistic potential. Hosted at Bradford's Mind the Gap Theatre and Summat Creative, both skilled in support-ing people with additional needs, the project will be led by Learning Disabled performer JoAnne Haines, with visual art-ist Tim Curtis and project manager Dan Mallaghan.
COMEDY CAFÉ by Khalida Ashrafi
This project is a platform for British Muslims of Asian heritage to showcase their talents in comedy and creative writing, ad-dressing underrepresentation and celebrating bilingual, multicultural experiences. It focuses on Bradford's diverse communities, offering alcohol-free open mic nights, work-shops, mentorship, and creative development.
Leeds Road Fest by Yaseen Mohammed
The project aims to co-create and deliver a large-scale arts and culture festival along Leeds Road, uniting the communi-ty and businesses in Bradford. Its goal is to establish a major destination event that engages local communities as co-creators, volunteers, and artists, while involving businesses in its programming and growth. By offering high-quality arts experiences, the festival plans to attract 30,000 attendees in 2025, with aspirations for future expansion.
Turning The Page Together by Delilah McNamara
The Turning the Page Together project is a 12-week program offering drama and art workshops for home-educated children in the Bierley community. It focuses on storytelling, character development, art creation, and theatrical performance, concluding with a community showcase. The children will explore Gypsy Traveller and Bradford history while building skills in performance, set design, and backstage roles.
STATUESQUE- family workshops BD25 by Naomi Parker
The project, STATUESQUE, will conduct a workshop to develop a new walkabout performance inspired by the existing show, "YE BIRDZ", which debuted nationally in August 2024. STATUESQUE will bring statues in Bradford and Keighley parks to life through a unique act featuring an original score by Dan McGlade, accompanied by live percussion performed by the applicant in a squirrel costume.
A Creative Year 2025 by Jason Patefield
This project aims to support disabled children and their families during school holidays by expanding the existing "Stay and Play" scheme to include children from the neighboring school, Merlin Top. The goal is to foster community integration and promote the idea that all children, regardless of needs or backgrounds, are equal.
