Everyones an Art-ist by Charlotte Green

This is a community project in Holmewood providing weekly artistic workshops at the local library throughout 2025. Focused on children and families it offers exciting and creative activities like visual arts, poetry, dance, sculpture, music, and storytelling. The initiative promotes self-expression, uncovers hidden talents, and aims to empower participants by fostering pride in the arts and in their own innate talents.

 

Love Music, Hate Crime by Thanveer Hussian

This innovative project will involve families and children in creating songs and music videos through creative writing workshops focused on anti-crime and local issues. Families will collaborate to write lyrics, and performing arts will be incorporated through dance workshops led by local choreographer Hasnain Shafiq.

 

Bradford Sound by Ross Elliott

This is a music creation programme designed to empower young people in Bradford, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through structured workshops and introductory taster sessions, participants gain skills in songwriting, production and performance. They will collaborate to create and record original songs, including group tracks that promote community engagement and self-expression.

 

Creative Minds by Naseem Kausar

Creative Minds will offer weekly upcycling art workshops engaging 60-80 mother-daughter pairs in collaborative projects. Activities will include creating culturally inspired, sustainable art while fostering family connections. Focused on South Asian heritage, it also promotes intercultural collaboration and environmental responsibility.

 

Threads and Motifs by Humaira Minhas & Saira Riaz

Threads and Motifs is an art project aimed at fostering creativity and cultural exchange among children, young people, and families. Participants will explore traditional and modern art techniques inspired by South Asian designs and Bradford’s internationally famous textile heritage - the project aims to promote artistic self-expression and collaboration.

 

Sangat Create Together by Riasat Ali

The Sangat Create Together project will deliver a range of arts initiatives to foster creativity, community ownership, and cultural participation. It includes the creation of two large-scale murals co-designed by children, families, and local artists, alongside a multi-arts workshop programme offering calligraphy, henna, canvas painting, and karaoke. The project will culminate in a fantastic celebration event showcasing participants’ creative outputs and featuring a meal prepared by the stakeholders themselves.

 

Hope Not Hate Community Art, Food and Dance Project  by Paul Meszaros

The Hope Not Hate Community Art, Food, and Dance Project is a new and inspiring initiative aimed at empowering young families and individuals through creative workshops. It includes weekly cooking and art sessions, culminating in the creation of murals and an ambitious public event at Odsal Stadium. The finale features a family fun day with a dance competition, live artwork, and an expected turnout of 15,000 people!

 

Dancing with Colour Work-shops by Dan Mallaghan

This project involves workshops for Learning Disabled and Neurodivergent young people and their families. Combining dance, music, and visual arts, these sessions will provide a sensory and creative space for participants to explore their artistic potential. This brave and much-needed project will be led by Learning Disabled performer JoAnne Haines, with visual artist Tim Curtis and project manager Dan Mallaghan.

 

Leeds Road Fest by Yaseen Mohammed

The project aims to co-create and deliver a large-scale arts and culture festival along Leeds Road, uniting the community, families and businesses in Bradford. Its goal is to establish a major destination event that engages local communities as co-creators, volunteers, and artists, while involving businesses in its programming and growth. By offering high-quality arts experiences, the festival plans to attract 30,000 attendees in 2025, with aspirations for future expansion. At its heart will be a series of creative performances and workshops intended to unite children and their families.

 

Turning The Page Together by Delilah McNamara & Rosie Hay

The Turning the Page Together project is a 12-week programme offering drama and art workshops for home-educated children in the Bierley community. It focuses on storytelling, character development, art creation, and theatrical performance, concluding with a community showcase. The children will explore Gypsy Traveller and Bradford history while building skills in performance, set design, and backstage roles.

 

STATUESQUE by Naomi Parker

STATUESQUE, is a vibrant walkabout act that brings the city’s park statues to life in the most imaginative way. Created by artists Naomi Parker and Rachel Hyde (Chicks on Sticks), the project culminates in a series of park days packed with fun, creativity, and carnival spirit. Families can take part in free workshops to make their own parade creations, before showcasing them alongside the parades. With original music composed by Dan McGlade STATUESQUE is a must-see celebration of creativity and community.

 

A Creative Year 2025 by Jason Patefield

This project aims to support disabled children and their families during school holidays by expanding the existing “Stay and Play” scheme to include children from the neighbouring school, Merlin Top. The goal is to foster community integration and promote the idea that all children, regardless of needs or backgrounds, are equal. Sessions will include bringing in ‘Creative Peeps’ to develop art sessions. And the team will bring in the brilliant ‘Plummer Drummer’ who creates drums and music from everyday objects including getting the kids to form a Plastic Bucket Drumming Band!
