Get Out More is excited to offer a family-focused forest school session including play, arts, and crafts, all taking place in the stunning autumnal woodland setting of Blackhills Scout camp.   Our experienced practitioners will offer a suite of playful adventurous activities, such as rope swings, slacklines, and hammocks, as well as nature-based art activities with clay and charcoal.
Forest school is a unique approach, where the ethos promotes child-led play in a natural setting.  Qualified practitioners support children to engage at their own level and participate at their own pace    Forest school has significant advantages for SEND children; the unstructured, flexible format and adaptable approach of leaders is responsive to individual needs, helping children develop social, emotional and practical skills and foster resilience, confidence and independence.
We will offer refreshments and a welcoming space for parents, as our experience of delivering family SEND sessions shows that parents value the opportunity to socialise and connect with other parents who are raising children with additional needs. Siblings are also welcome and will benefit from a range of enriching activities.
