The event will be delivered in two age-specific sessions to ensure the activities are appropriate. Children aged 4–12 years will take part in "Building My Safe City", using cardboard construction, painting, collage, recycled materials and 3D modelling to create a building or place that represents safety, happiness or belonging for them. Guided by our Art Therapists, participants will first create individually before bringing their work together to build a collaborative city, celebrating each child's unique ideas while encouraging teamwork and shared achievement.

Young people aged 13–18 years will participate in Room for Me, creating a miniature room or a calming space using cardboard, modelling materials, collage, magazines and small craft items. This 3D creative activity encourages participants to express their identity, interests and what helps them feel safe and grounded in a way that does not rely on verbal communication.

The workshops will be facilitated by experienced Art Therapists and Family Action staff, with clear structure, visual examples, flexible support and opportunities for children to participate at their own pace. The creative process has been carefully designed to be accessible for a range of SEND needs while encouraging imagination, communication and positive wellbeing.

At the same time, parents and carers will be invited to attend a separate session where they can connect with other families, take a break and contribute feedback on our new Inclusion Passport. This relaxed, creative environment will encourage meaningful conversation, reduce isolation and ensure families play an active role in shaping a more inclusive service.
