↑ community-led heritage grant 2022-23

@theleapbd

Eight people-powered projects celebrating community heritage stories from across Bradford district.

The Heritage Fund was proud to partner with The Leap and Bradford Council for this work, because they are the people who already live, work and play here, and who share your passion for your place, and for its endless possibilities.

Heritage is not just about preserving the physical past, it’s also about recording the lived experiences of our communities in the present - and inspiring future generations.

This programme received a huge number of applications, reflecting the big appetite in Bradford District for grassroots heritage storytelling, and allowing more people to become engaged with heritage as a result.

The eight projects have come together over the past 12 months after an initial callout which saw more than 120 applications for funding of up to £10,000.

heritage showcase event

On Tuesday 28th March 2023 our Heritage Award Winners shared their achievements at our Showcase. They showed the community what they have been working on over the past 12 months with their projects .

The event provided an opportunity to talk to our Award Winners and find out more about their projects. We were also also proud to launch the heritage showcase booklet at this which highlights the stories of our Award Winners projects.

In addition the day featured a panel discussion with industry experts and funders, networking opportunities, workshops to help develop future projects and 1:1 surgeries. And of course we be provided a delicious lunch!

You can view the Heritage Showcase booklet here to find out more about each individual project.
