call out: people’s assemblies

@theleapbd

invitation to local culture leadership people’s assemblies

Are you involved in arts, cultural, or creative activities in Bradford or Keighley? Interested in how local cultural leadership is recognised and supported? Join us at our People’s Assemblies in March and April 2026 and share your voice.

The Leap, working with York St John University’s Institute for Social Justice, is leading Understanding Community-Led Culture in Bradford and Keighley. The project explores what motivates local cultural leaders, the challenges they face, and how communities define cultural leadership. We’re now inviting community members to join three welcoming People’s Assemblies to explore the key themes and help shape the outcome of the research. The insights gathered will help shape future cultural policy, funding and support for community-led culture across Bradford district and the wider Yorkshire region.

The Assemblies take place on

  • Tuesday 24 March,

  • Tuesday 31 March

  • Tuesday 14 April 2026

from 4–6pm at the Khidmat Centre (BD7 2EU).

We encourage you to attend all three, if possible, but you’re welcome to join even if you can’t make every date.  If culture matters to you — this is your opportunity to help shape its future.
